Powe has surgery

Boston Celtics forward Leon Powe underwent successful knee surgery Tuesday morning.

Powe suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against Chicago on April 20.

Tuesday's procedure reconstructed the ACL while also repairing a microfracture and damaged cartilage. No timetable has been given for Powe's return, but he will miss the remainder of the playoffs and is expected to make a full recovery.

Powe averaged 7.7 points in 70 regular season games in 2008-09. He injured his right knee in mid-March, coincidentally, against Chicago.
